Early Life and Career

Steve Jobs was born in San Francisco, California, on February 24, 1955. He was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs, a couple from Wisconsin. Jobs showed an early interest in electronics and engineering. He attended Homestead High School in Cupertino, California, and graduated in 1972.

After high school, Jobs enrolled at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. However, he dropped out after only six months. He then traveled to India to study Eastern philosophy and religion. In 1976, Jobs returned to California and co-founded Apple Computer, Inc. with Steve Wozniak.

Apple Computer, Inc.

Apple Computer, Inc. was founded in Jobs's garage in Los Altos, California. The company's first product was the Apple I, a personal computer that was designed by Wozniak. The Apple I was a success, and it helped to launch Apple Computer, Inc. into the personal computer market.

In 1977, Apple Computer, Inc. introduced the Apple II, a more advanced personal computer that was designed by Jobs. The Apple II was a huge success, and it helped to make Apple Computer, Inc. one of the leading companies in the personal computer industry.

In 1984, Apple Computer, Inc. introduced the Macintosh, a personal computer that was designed by Jobs. The Macintosh was the first personal computer to feature a graphical user interface (GUI). The Macintosh was a revolutionary product, and it helped to popularize the use of personal computers.

NeXT and Pixar

In 1985, Jobs was forced out of Apple Computer, Inc. by the company's board of directors. Jobs then founded NeXT, a computer company that developed high-end workstations. NeXT was not a commercial success, but it developed some innovative technologies that were later adopted by Apple Computer, Inc.

In 1986, Jobs bought Pixar, a computer animation studio. Pixar produced several successful animated films, including Toy Story, A Bug's Life, and Monsters, Inc.

Return to Apple

In 1997, Apple Computer, Inc. acquired NeXT. Jobs returned to Apple as the company's CEO. Under Jobs's leadership, Apple Computer, Inc. introduced a number of successful products, including the iMac, iPod, iPhone, and iPad.

Jobs died of pancreatic cancer on October 5, 2011. He was 56 years old.
