Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye was a comic book series published by IDW Publishing from 2012 to 2016. It was a reboot of the classic Transformers franchise, and it quickly gained a reputation for its complex storytelling, character development, and stunning artwork.

The series was written by James Roberts and drawn by Alex Milne. Roberts had previously written for Transformers: Prime, and Milne had worked on Transformers: War Within. The two of them brought their combined talents to More Than Meets the Eye, and they created a truly unique and memorable series.

The Story

More Than Meets the Eye follows the adventures of the Lost Light, a Cybertronian starship that is home to a diverse crew of Transformers.

The crew includes Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots; Megatron, the leader of the Decepticons; Starscream, Megatron's second-in-command; and Bumblebee, a young Autobot who is eager to prove himself.

The Lost Light is on a mission to find the Knights of Cybertron, a group of ancient Transformers who are said to hold the key to defeating Unicron, a powerful and evil god.

Along the way, the crew of the Lost Light encounters a variety of challenges, including space pirates, bounty hunters, and even their own internal conflicts.

The Characters

One of the things that makes More Than Meets the Eye so special is its characters.

Roberts and Milne have created a cast of characters that are complex, relatable, and utterly compelling.

Optimus Prime is a wise and compassionate leader, but he is also haunted by the war that has torn Cybertron apart.

Megatron is a ruthless and ambitious leader, but he is also capable of great kindness and compassion.

Starscream is a scheming and treacherous Decepticon, but he is also fiercely loyal to his crewmates.

Bumblebee is a young and idealistic Autobot, but he is also brave and determined.

These are just a few of the many memorable characters that appear in More Than Meets the Eye.

The Art

The artwork in More Than Meets the Eye is simply stunning.

Milne has a unique and expressive style that brings the Transformers to life on the page.

His action sequences are thrilling, and his character designs are iconic.

The colors by Joana Lafuente are also a highlight of the series.

Lafuente's colors are vibrant and eye-catching, and they help to create a sense of atmosphere and wonder.

The Legacy

Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye is a comic book masterpiece that has left a lasting legacy on the Transformers franchise.

The series has been praised for its complex storytelling, character development, and stunning artwork.

It has won numerous awards, including the Eisner Award for Best Continuing Series in 2013.

More Than Meets the Eye is a must-read for any fan of Transformers or comic books in general.

Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye is a complex, challenging, and rewarding comic book series that is sure to stay with you long after you finish reading it.

If you are looking for a Transformers story that is more than just meets the eye, then I highly recommend checking out this series.
