I was born in a small village in rural Zimbabwe. My parents were poor farmers, and we lived in a mud hut with no electricity or running water. I remember a childhood of hunger, violence, and fear. My father was a drunkard, and he often beat my mother and me. My mother worked hard to support us, but she was often sick. I went to school hungry most days, and I was often bullied by the other children. When I was 10 years old, my father died. My mother was devastated, and she could no longer support us. I was forced to drop out of school and go to work to help support my family.

I worked as a farm laborer for several years, but the pay was barely enough to survive. I was often hungry and sick. I lived in constant fear of being beaten or killed. One day, I was arrested by the government for being a suspected dissident. I was tortured and imprisoned for several months. When I was finally released, I was told to leave the country or face further persecution. I fled to a refugee camp in neighboring Mozambique. I lived in the camp for several years, but the conditions were terrible. The food was scarce, the water was dirty, and the violence was rampant. I witnessed firsthand the horrors of war and displacement. I saw people die from starvation, disease, and violence. I was constantly afraid for my life.

Despite the challenges I faced, I never lost my hope for a better future. I knew that I had to find a way to escape the camp and build a new life for myself. One day, I was approached by a group of people who were helping refugees resettle in the United States. I applied for asylum and was eventually granted permission to come to America. I arrived in the United States in 2000 with nothing but the clothes on my back. I didn't speak English, and I had no job or place to live. But I was determined to make a better life for myself. I enrolled in English classes and started working at a low-paying job. I saved every penny I could and eventually started my own business. Today, I am a successful businessman and a passionate advocate for refugees and immigrants.

Running Dogs Rose Children is my story of resilience, courage, and the power of hope. It is a story that I share to inspire others who are facing adversity. I want to show the world that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope. We can all overcome our challenges and achieve our dreams. Never give up on your dreams. Never give up on hope.
