Marilyn Monroe was born Norma Jeane Mortenson on June 1, 1926, in Los Angeles, California. Her mother, Gladys Pearl Baker, was a film cutter, and her father, Charles Stanley Gifford, was a salesman. Monroe's parents divorced when she was very young, and she was raised by her mother and her mother's new husband, Martin Mortensen.

Monroe's childhood was difficult. Her mother was often sick, and she was frequently sent to live with foster families. Monroe attended several different schools, and she dropped out of high school at the age of 16.

In 1944, Monroe married James Dougherty, a police officer. The marriage lasted only four years, and Monroe divorced Dougherty in 1946. After her divorce, Monroe began working as a model. She soon caught the attention of Hollywood agents, and in 1946 she signed a contract with 20th Century Fox.

Monroe's film career began with small roles in films such as The Shocking Miss Pilgrim (1947) and Ladies of the Chorus (1948). However, it was her role in the 1950 film All About Eve that made her a star. Monroe went on to star in some of the most popular films of the 1950s, including Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953),How to Marry a Millionaire (1953),and The Seven Year Itch (1955).

Monroe's films were often comedies, and she was known for her bubbly personality and her sex appeal. However, Monroe was also a serious actress, and she was able to portray a wide range of emotions on screen. Monroe's most famous role is probably that of Marilyn Monroe in the 1953 film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. In this film, Monroe sings the iconic song "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend." Monroe's performance in this film is considered to be one of the greatest performances in film history.

Monroe's personal life was often troubled. She was married three times, and all three marriages ended in divorce. Monroe also struggled with depression and substance abuse. In 1962, Monroe died of a drug overdose at the age of 36.

Monroe's death was a shock to the world. She was one of the most popular and beloved actresses of her time, and her death was a major loss for the film industry. Monroe's legacy continues to live on, and she remains one of the most iconic actresses of all time.

Afterlife

Monroe's death has been the subject of much speculation and conspiracy theories. Some people believe that Monroe was murdered, while others believe that she committed suicide. However, there is no definitive evidence to support either of these theories.

What is known is that Monroe was found dead in her home in Los Angeles on August 5, 1962. She was 36 years old. The official cause of death was drug overdose. However, some people believe that Monroe was actually killed by a combination of drugs and alcohol.

Monroe's death was a major loss for the film industry. She was one of the most popular and beloved actresses of her time, and her death left a void in Hollywood. Monroe's legacy continues to live on, and she remains one of the most iconic actresses of all time.

Marilyn Monroe was a complex and fascinating woman. She was a talented actress, a sex symbol, and a cultural icon. However, she was also a troubled person who struggled with depression and substance abuse. Monroe's death was a tragedy, but her legacy continues to live on. She remains one of the most iconic actresses of all time, and her films continue to be enjoyed by audiences around the world.
