Ford was born on July 30, 1863, in Greenfield Township, Michigan. His father, William Ford, was a farmer and his mother, Mary Litogot Ford, was a weaver.

Ford had a strong interest in mechanics from an early age. He built his first gasoline-powered buggy in 1896, and in 1903 he founded the Ford Motor Company.

The Ford Motor Company quickly became one of the most successful businesses in the world. Ford's Model T automobile, which was introduced in 1908, was the first car to be mass-produced on an assembly line.

The Model T was a huge success, and it helped to make the automobile affordable for the average person. Ford's assembly line techniques also revolutionized the way that goods were manufactured, and they are still used today in factories around the world.

Ford was a complex and controversial figure. He was a brilliant innovator who made a significant contribution to the development of the automobile industry. However, he was also a ruthless businessman who was accused of exploiting his workers.

Ford died on April 7, 1947, at the age of 83. He is buried in the Ford Cemetery in Dearborn, Michigan.

Ford's Early Life

Henry Ford was born on July 30, 1863, in Greenfield Township, Michigan. He was the son of William Ford, a farmer, and Mary Litogot Ford, a weaver.

Ford's father was a strict disciplinarian, and he often beat his son. Ford's mother was a loving and supportive figure, and she encouraged her son's interest in mechanics.

Ford attended a one-room schoolhouse in Greenfield Township. He was a poor student, and he often skipped school to work on his own projects.

In 1879, Ford's father died, and Ford was forced to quit school to help support his family. He worked as a farmhand and a machinist before moving to Detroit in 1882.

Ford's Career in the Automobile Industry

Ford began his career in the automobile industry in 1891, when he got a job as an engineer at the Edison Illuminating Company in Detroit.

In 1896, Ford built his first gasoline-powered buggy. He called it the Quadricycle. The Quadricycle was a success, and it encouraged Ford to start his own automobile company.

In 1903, Ford founded the Ford Motor Company. The company's first car was the Model A. The Model A was not a success, but Ford's next car, the Model T, was a huge hit.

The Model T was introduced in 1908, and it was the first car to be mass-produced on an assembly line. The assembly line allowed Ford to produce cars much faster and more efficiently than his competitors.

The Model T was a huge success, and it helped to make the automobile affordable for the average person. By 1918, Ford was producing more than 1 million Model Ts per year.

Ford's success in the automobile industry made him one of the richest men in the world. He used his wealth to support a variety of philanthropic causes, including the Ford Foundation.
