The British monarchy is one of the oldest and most respected institutions in the world. The current monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, has reigned for over 60 years and is the longest-serving monarch in British history. Behind her are three women who are next in line to the throne: Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall; Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge; and Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, is the second wife of Prince Charles, Prince of Wales. She was born Camilla Shand in 1947 and is the daughter of Major Bruce Shand and Rosalind Cubitt. Camilla and Prince Charles met in 1970 and began a relationship, but their relationship was cut short when Charles joined the Royal Navy. Camilla married Andrew Parker Bowles in 1973, and the couple had two children, Tom and Laura. Charles and Camilla rekindled their relationship in the 1980s, and they married in 2005.
